Chris Evans first Radio 2 Breakfast Show Song

11th January 2010, and Chris Evans has finally replaced Sir Terry Wogan as host of the Radio 2 breakfast show.

It was a triumphant return to the mornings for Chris Evans, despite clearly “playing it safe” with his first 3 song selections (All you need is Love by The Beatles, Got to get you into my life by The Beatles, and Come fly with me by Frank Sinatra).

Still, it was a great show, and not all that far removed from his previous drivetime shows, with the usual banter, phone-ins and kids telling us what they’re doing for the first time today…

He may be louder and more boistrous than Terry Wogan, but I think he’ll be ok.  Give me Chris Evans over Chris Moyles any day of the week…

Chris Evans and Terry Wogan only win £1000 on Millionaire

How much did Chris Evans and Terry Wogan win on Millionaire?

What an absolute disaster – after so much promise, Terry Wogan and Chris Evans failed miserably on Who Wants to be a millionaire. Having breezed through the rehearsal, getting to the million mark, they bowed out in the “official” show at £1000, after quite frankly, getting a little too confident, and saving their lifelines till later. Although, you never got to use any of them did you lads?

You had to feel a little embarrassed for them – after the week Sir Terry has had, he deserved to go out on a high. In essence, his week has ended slightly flatter than he would have liked. Perhaps there will be talk of a rematch? Come on Tarrant, pull some strings…

Chris Evans and Terry Wogan win £1million on Who Wants to be a Millionaire

Who Wants to be a Millionaire in aid of Children in Need

Time for some change Chris Evans revealed on his Radio 2 drive time show, that he and Terry Wogan managed to win £1million of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, in aid of Children in Need, with TWO lifelines remaining…..

Sadly though, this was only in the rehearsal. The true result, Chris Evans wouldn’t reveal. I guess we’ll have to wait until it’s shown on ITV at Christmas.

Chris Tarrant did say though that noone had ever reached £1million before in rehearsal. Interesting…furthermore, it is an hour long show, with just the two couples on – with an hour to play   with, there’s a good chance high totals will be reached. Roll on Christmas!!
