Insane Transfer Fees | £80m for Cristiano Ronaldo

I’m struggling to see how one player can be worth so much money. Granted, Cristiano Ronaldo is an awesome plyaer (if a little petulant), but is he really worth almost the same amount as a football club (e.g. Newcastle United up for £100 million).

I guess given the price of success is so huge now, and Real Madrid have probably spent too long being knocked out in the quarter finals of the Champions League…but the players still need to gel, no matter how much they cost.

Kaka is by far the best player on the planet, but if he can’t handle the petulance and ball greediness of Ronaldo, then Madrid will have problems.

I personally don’t thinmk we’ll see any change next   season, and it will still be Barcelona that rolls over every team put in front of them.

The Best Week in the History of Liverpool FC

The Best Week in the History of Liverpool FC

Well, maybe an exaggeration, as they haven’t won anything, but surely, any week that includes thrashings of real Madrid, Man Utd, and the signing for 5 years of your manager has to rank up there. Sami Hyypia said it was the best week since they won the treble in 2001. Thing is, for a club of such magnificent history, you could pick any number of weeks, being as they’ve been so successful. Let’s hope that Man Utd mess up in the run-in.

Rafa Benitez to Real Madrid

Who else is convinced this is going to happen. All too convenient delaying tactics over his contract, and a coincidental meeting in the Champions League will surely have whet his appetite for the mighty Real Madrid. And sadly, this would mean half the Liverpool squad following him right behind. I would suggest the Liverpool owners get Rafa signed up pronto – imagine a club without Fernando Torres, or worse still, Steven Gerrard…
