Though, the G-1 Glass Pool Table is no ordinary glass pool table (if there is such a thing). No, this bad boy is made from toughened Vitrik glass about a centimetre and a half in thickness no less. It is apparantely six times stronger than ordinary glass, meaning it’s not going to smash or shatter should you drop anything on it.

You can already envisage the kids lying underneath the glass table watching the balls roll across the table and into the pockets. It’s sure to be a spectacle in itself. One can only imagine the “play” of the table and how perfectly the balls roll across the glass. Not to mention the chrome cue ball you can get, as well as the glass triangle. It just gets better doesn’t it.

We’re hoping that it features dust repellent glass, therefore negating the need for a brush or cloth for the table.

There are many suppliers of glass pool or glass snooker tables, it’s just a case of knowing where to look. A good example is nottagedesign.com, who were featured in the Live Magazine in the Sunday Daily Mail, but prepare to pay up for such a thing of beauty….these glass pool tables are currently retailing at £35,000!

Opulent Fish Tanks

If you’d like an opulent fish tank like Thierry Henry’s then you’ll want to make sure you’ve got your sizing right first. henry is planning to install a 15ft long, 3ft wide tank into his new home.

Henry’s opulent fish tank is going to consist of four separate tanks, as opposed to one large tank, and they will span the height of his house. There will be one opulent fish tank per floor. The effect will be that the opulent fish tank sits in the middle of the house and is visible on all floors, much like a wall of fish, and will appear as if it is one tank.

Opulent fish tanks are popular among celebrities, with fellow footballers Joe Hart and David Beckham having one, as well as singers Madonna and Cher.

By going for four sepearate opulent fish tanks, Henry has saved himself some money, as the running costs for a single tank that size would be some £80,000 a year, whereas by having four tanks, the cost comes down to £12,000 a year. It’s likely £2,500 of that will be on fish food!

Opulent fish tank owners have a choice of over 2,000 fish to choose from for that are suitable for their aquariums, such as clown fish.

Following his brief return to Arsenal, it seems Thierry Henry is turning his talents for acquatics. We wish him well with his opulent fish tank.

Chris Evans recommended the book “Flip It!” on his Radio 2 show, and interviewed the author Michael Heppell. To say it’s ground-breaking could well be the case….and at about a fiver, you can’t go wrong.

Life is on a bit of a downer, let’s face it. Recession, job losses, war….you name it, it’s affecting us all. So here’s a little something to help make it all better again. With a simple trick or two, Michael Heppell teaches you to flip the bad and make good through a new take on thinking.

You’ll learn straightforward techniques that you can use to make the bad times more bearable, the good times better than ever and everyday life just, well, less ‘everyday’.

Michael Heppell describes the book in the following video:

The following is taken from the back cover:

There’s a simple way of thinking, acting and doing that, once learned, will make sure you get the very best out of every situation. It’s called Flip it.

Flip It by Michael Heppell challenges you to get curious about how you interpret and handle every situation. It liberates you from the beliefs that have been holding you back and gives you a powerfully simple way to flip your thinking and energise your actions, so that you can get the very best from whatever life sends your way.

At home, at work, in love and in life Michael Heppell’s Flip It techniques have already helped millions of people achieve what they want when they want.

Now it’s time for you to Flip It and make your life more successful, your career more rewarding and everything else more enjoyable.

———

As they say, if life gives you lemons, then make lemonade. And that is the essence of this book. You can grab yourself a copy here from Amazon: Flip it: How to Get the Best Out of Everything

Noel is back with his high flying birds and what a triumphant return!

The album kicks of with the anthemic and orchestral brilliance of Everybodys on the run, proving that no number of Youtube rips can compare to the studio version in all it’s CD quality glory. An incredible opener to an album that doesn’t let up until the closer Stop the Clocks.

The previously mentioned Stop the Clocks gets yet another reworking, as does I wanna live in a dream (in my record machine), both of which are old Noel songs that have been hanging around as demos since back in the days of Oasis. In fact, many of the songs on this album Noel has admitted were played with Gem at some point.

The stand out track If I had a gun sitting in track position 3 is Noel at his very best, a bitter sweet love song that will surely go down well as a Christmas release in the UK.

Early singles The Death of you and me, and AKA What a life ease the album along nicely, with not a single filler on the album – its strong from start to finish. Noel Gallaghers high flying birds are here to stay…Liam who?

Stone Roses reforming for Heaton Park gigs

It’s finally happened, after a long and drawn out will they won’t they saga, the news we’ve all been waiting to here is, yep The Stone Roses are reforming.

Ian Brown and John Squire have buried the hatchet, and will play Heaton Park in Manchester on 29th and 30th June 2012. Question is, will it be a resurrection, or a continuation of where they left off at the Reading Festival gig in 1996, widely planned as one of their worst performances. It fell some way short of the excitement of Spike Island, but whether they can match the dizzy heights of the 80′s and 90′s remains to be seen.

With a new album in the offing, and new songs to be played at the gigs, and a forthcoming tour, we will be adoring the Stone Roses all over again, whether we like it or not.

The Carling Cup is at last getting the recognition it deserves. With places at the top of the Premier League becoming more and more competitive with the continued dominance of Man Utd, and big spending of Man City, other big teams are looking over their shoulder, realising that actually, the Carling Cup represents the one solid good chance of winning a trophy, and more importantly a guaranteed way into Europe through the Europa League.

Therefore we are seeing the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea taking the competition seriously with stronger line-ups than they had some years ago.

It was him that first made me pick it up, and it was his Radio 1 acoustic performance of Don’t Look Back in Anger that prompted me to learn How to Play Guitar and Sing at the Same Time.

It’s one of those things that you can’t describe HOW it happened, but you know it just did when all of a sudden you were singing “And so Sally can wait…” while effectively playing a G chord.

Actually, I say I can’t describe how it happened, but really I can. I’ve given some thought to creating a course that people can follow in order to learn How to Play Guitar and Sing at the Same Time….and I will publish it if there is sufficient interest. What do people think? Is it a good idea? Would it be of use? Let me know what you think

A busy, frenzied end to the transfer window ensued, with the Barclays Premier League taking a hammering as clubs went about their business, picking over the scraps left over on deadline day. Though, looking at the quality of some of the signings, they were anything but scraps. How about:

Raul Meireles from Liverpool to Chelsea
Craig Bellamy from Man City back to Liverpool
Peter Crouch from Spurs to Stoke City
Mikel Arteta from Everton to Arsenal (great signing for Wenger)
Owen Hargreaves from Man Utd to Man City (seriously??)
Joe Cole from Liverpool to Lille on loan
David N’gog from Liverpool to Bolton
Scott Dann from Brimingham to Blackburn
Scott Parker from West Ham to Spurs
Shaun Wright-Phillips from Man City to QPR

And a whole lot more…

Arsenal look in good shape again now, so will likely begin their steady climb up the table. Spurs managed to hold on to Luka Modric despite a £40m bid from Chelsea, and the signing of Scott Parker looks a good one.

Liverpool continued to strengthen with a solid back-up striker in Bellamy, despite the surprise last minute loss of Meireles to Chelsea.

Man Utd were very quiet having conducted their business a long time ago…ominously, they still look strong, and none of the above will make a blind bit of difference to where the silverware will end up at the end of the season. It’s Old Trafford all the way….

In what could potentially be the closest Premier League season ever, it’s a tough one to call on who is going to claim the crown. Can Kenny Dalglish roll back the years and give Liverpool fans what they have been craving for 20 years?

Will the cheque book be the saviour as Man City buy their way to their first Premier League title? Or will the cunning and nouse of Chelsea bring the silverware back to Stamford Bridge? Or how about Arsenal, with a potentially depleted squad, can they quietly sneak up on the outside rails and pull a rabbit of the hat? Or will Harry Redknapp continue to weave his magic at Tottenham Hotspur?

We assess the hopes and aspirations of the forerunners for the 2011-2012 Premier League season, and tell you who will claim the crown.

Man City
They will climb one more place from last seasons 3rd place finish, to grab the runners up spot. Money will continue to talk, however with a few team spirit issues creeping in and robbing them of a few banker points, City will slip up more often than they should. Mancini will see the season as a success, his employers won’t, and he’ll get the sack.

Arsenal
Will be in a dog-fight with Tottenham and Liverpool for 4th/5th place. Wilshere and Ramsey will be their saviours, but unfortunately the promise of last season will not be witnessed this time around. Arsene Wengers days could be numbered.

Liverpool
The magic of the King’s return will not be enough to get that league title they so desire. With a couple of his new signings not performing (one likely to be Andy Carroll), the reds will still grab 4th place, after a promising start to the campaign, they will falter.

Chelsea
Man City have overtaken them as the rich boys, and they will be overtaken by them in the placings, with Chelsea finishing 3rd. And they will not exactly set the world alight getting there.

Man Utd
Sorry, but they will be top of the pile come May 2012. We just can’t see past them – Sir Alex and his boys have already shown how things are going to go with their last minute defeat of Man City in the Community Shield. Title number 20 is coming to Old Trafford.

So what do you think, is this the way the season is going to go? Let us know below.
