For starters, he avoids any kind of witch-hunt should England capitulate like they did at the World Cup 2010.  Of course, this all depends on England qualifying in the first place.  Mind you, if trophies were awarded for qualifying campaigns, Capello’s England would be world champions.

However, there is the other school of thought in that Capello has become disillusioned with the media frenzy surrounding his squad, and their apparent inability to stay faithful to their WAGs.  Wayne Rooney currently leads the way on this front, and John Terry, Ashley Cole and other philanderers must be breathing a sigh of relief as he steals the limelight from them.  You could almost forget than John Terry was the main attraction prior to the World Cup.  How the world of football changes like the wind.

One things for sure – we need an England team full of role models, professionals dedicated to their art and willing to die for the three lions.  Bobby Moore must be turning in his grave.  But as James Milner quoted this week, “the main thing is we are winning”…that’s the spirit boys, I’m sure Coleen is in agreement.

Yet again, the Google logo is a mystery, with a series of coloured HTML5 animating around the screen. Usually you can hover over the logo, and a tooltip will inform you whose birthday they are celebrating, or whcih anniversary of an invention it is. But not today. Shrouded in mystery, today’s Google logo is a real perplexer…could it be the birthday of the humble balloon, or web animations themselves. Or are Google simply confusing the hell out of us for the sake of it? For a company that lets its employees fly around on scooters in the workplace, I wouldn’t put it past them.

What is the Google logo for 7th September 2010? I haven’t a clue.

Following an abject performance in Europe on Thursday with a slender advantage fromo a Ryan Babel goal, Liverpool need a big performance, and without Joe Cole. Expect another draw then.

Never before has four contestants left on the same night, but the selected bunch can feel pretty hard done by. With the public being asked to pick who they wanted to evict, it was always inevitable that the more powerful and contreversial characters would be assassinated. Hence, we saw the departure of John James, Corin, Sam and Steve. Conversely, the tickets to the final for Mario, Andrew, Dave and JJ have enured the most anti-climatic final in Big Brother history. If Josie doesn’t win they I’ll eat my hat. Thank goodness for the two week “Ultimate Big Brother” extravaganza immediately after. Expect to see Josie coast that too.

As heard on BBC Radio 2, Twitchiker is Paul Smith’s tale of travelling across the globe relying solely on Twitter.  In his discussion with Liza Tarbuck, Paul failed to acknowledge whether he achieved his goal, so I guess we all need to go out and buy the book.  Sounds like a fun read nonetheless, and the latest ingenuity of how we use social media for absolutely no real reason.
