Holidays in Christmas

It’s that time of year where everyone thinks “uhhhhh, that came round quick”, but really, secretly, everybody loves the Christmas holidays. Come on, you can’t deny it…..so what do you do for your Holidays in Christmas? Personally I’m a family man, and everything has to be coordinated around the whole family, and woe betide you if you don’t make it lol.

But isn’t it stressful, even if you’re not the one shoving the turkey in the oven. It’s bad enough having to wash up the dishes for 10 people, let alone having spent the last 2 or 3 months buying presents for them all. What gets me is I’m buying them stuff they’ve asked for….where’s the surprise in that lol.

I’ve started thinking that maybe Holidays in Christmas should literally mean just that…..a holiday. So I got thinking, where would be a nice place to spend the Christmas holidays? After going through the options, New York (would love to go ice-skating there and see all the lights), Sweden, Ireland…..but actually, what I would really like, REALLY REALLY like is to step into the Shakin Stevens ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ video, kick all the people out and sit by the fireplace in a nice thick reindeer jumper (Colin Firth style) and drink a nice warming tipple, while the snow beats on the window outside. mmm, kind of makes me feel differently about holidays in Christmas….
