Pedaflop
First prize goes to the first person who can describe what a pedaflop is? Because I haven’t got the foggiest. An I.T. colleague used the phrase the other day, and spurred me into setting about finding out what the hell a pedaflop is.
I then learnt that it’s got a lot to do with computing, flops and megaflops. What I can tell you is that a pedaflop is 1000 teraflops, but that is as far as my knowledge goes. Thankfully, there are some people out there that DO know what they are:

Predictions for 2009

It would seem that 2008 was the year of Facebook. Everyone got on it, everyone was talking about it, and everyone undoubtably will still be on it in 2009.
Personally I’m not on it, I don’t have the inclination or the time, but I have heard lots of good things, especially about the applications that you can find on there. I remember the whole furore over the Scrabble game, that did make me laugh.

Well, he came close in the end, although if you can call some 400,000 singles behind “close”, well…it was never much of a race for Christmas Number 1. X-Factor, for as long as it exists, will always comandeer the top spot, end of story.
I hadn’t realised though, that Jeff Buckley had got to the top in America due to Jason Castro performing Hallelujah on American Idol. It seems 2008 has been the year of Jeff, only 11 years since he passed away, and people are just starting to discover him. Even if it is because of Simon Cowell.
Jeff would have loved the irony, surely.

Thank you Santa for allowing this to happen. Liverpool FC are top of the table for Christmas. Therefore, as Rafa Benitez says, they have an 80% chance of winning the title come May.
Whether they can hold on remains to be seen, given their recent run of form. But even with all these draws, they’ve stayed top. It’s going to be a fascinating run-in until the end of season. Come on you reds!
